Negli anni ’70 inizia ad intendificare
la sua attività come armonicista,
intervenendo con assoli al fianco di
Mina, Pino Daniele, Toquiño, Rossana
Casale, Caterina Valente, Gino Paoli.
Dall’86 registra sotto il proprio nome
gli album “Harmonica”, “Sweet Jazz
From Italy”, “Portrait in Black and White”
e “Different Moods” che ha la particolarità
di contenere la jazz-suite “Metamorfosi”
(masterizzato e ripubblicato dalla M.A.P.
nel 2000), da lui composta per armonica
e quartetto d’archi.

Il CD “Bruno De Filippi in New York
with Friedman Trio” evidenzia il talento
che Bruno ha sviluppato con l’armonica
cromatica. Il sodalizio sviluppatosi con
il pianista americano Don Friedman
dà vita nel 1994 all’album “You and the
night and the music” e a numerosi
concerti in Europa e negli Usa.
Importanti palcoscenici, hanno visto
la sua armonica: “Town Hall”, “Birdland”,
e il prestigioso “Blue Note” di New York,
considerato uno dei più grandi jazz club
del mondo; inoltre “The Green Mill” di
Chicago, “Pier House” di Key West
(Florida) e numerosi Jazz club in
Germania e Indonesia.
Ultimamente ha tenuto dei concerti
in Russia alla “Philarmonic Hall” di
S. Pietroburgo e alla “Convention Hall”
di Honk Hong.

Tra i jazz Festival da sottolineare le
partecipazioni al “Jazz at the Tropic”
di Miami, al “Django Reinhardt Festival”
di Fontainbleu (Francia), al “Jakarta
Jazz Festival” (Indonesia), al “Zagreb
Jazz Festival”. Il Cd “Lili Marlen”,
realizzato a New York, per l’etichetta
“Giants of Jazz” ha ottenuto grandi
riconoscimenti della stampa
specializzata.

Il CD “You my love”, dedicato alla moglie
Mimì, è stato registrato nel ’97 con Don
Friedman, Bill Hart e Jeff Fuller. E ancora
il Cd “I Love Paris”, che contiene famose
canzoni francesi arrangiate in jazz,
a cui hanno partecipato, Pierre Michelot
al basso, George Arvanitas al piano e
Philippe Combelle, alla batteria.
“Senti che lune” è l’ultimo CD, registrato
con la partecipazione di Gianni Coscia
alla fisarmonica, contenente 13 famose
canzoni dedicate alla luna come
“Moonlight Serenade” e
“Guarda che Luna”.

During the seventies he starts playing
chromatic harmonica in solos with
Mina, Pino Daniele, Toquiño, Rossana
Casale, Caterina Valente, Gino Paoli.
Since 1986 onwards he records in his
name the album “Harmonica”, “Sweet
Jazz from Italy”, “Portrait in Black and
White”and “Different Moods” that has
the special feature of containing the
jazz- suite “Metamorfosi” (mastered
and republished by M.A.P. in 2000),
composed by Bruno for harmonica
and strings quartet.

The Cd “Bruno De Filippi” in New York
with Don Friedman Trio” shows the talent
Bruno developed with the chromatic
harmonica. The partnership with the
American pianist Don Friedman leads
in 1994 to the album “You and the night
and the music” and numerous concerts
through Europe and the United States.
Bruno played in New York at the
“Town Hall”, “Birdland”, and the
prestigious “Blue Note” of New York,
considered the most important jazz club
in the world; and also“The Green Mill” in
Chicago, “Pier House” in Key West
(Florida) and a number of Jazz clubs
in Germany and Indonesia. Recently
he played in the Russian Federation
at the “Philarmonic Hall” in St. Petersburg
and the “Convention Hall” of Honk Hong.

He partecipates at “Jazz at the Tropic”
in Miami, at the “Django Reinhardt
Festival” in Fontainbleu (France),
“Jakarta Jazz Festival” (Indonesia)
and the“Zagreb Jazz Fair” (Croatia).
Then the “Jazz Philarmonic Hall” of
St. Petersburg, “Villa Celimontana”
(Rome), The Academy of Performing
Arts” in Honk Kong. The Cd “Lili Marlen”,
highly acknowledged by the specialised
press, was recorded in 1996 in New York
with Don Friedman trio for the “Giants
of Jazz” label.

The Cd “You my love”, dedicated to
his wife Mimì, was also recorded in
1997 with Don Friedman, Bill Hart and
Jeff Fuller. “I Love Paris” a collection
of famous French songs rearranged
in jazz. It was recorded in Paris with
Pierre Michelot on bass, George
Arvanitas on piano and Philippe
Combelle on drums. “Senti che lune”
is the latest Cd recorded with the
accordeonist Gianni Coscia, with 13
very famous songs dedicated to the
moon such as “Moonlight Serenade”
and “Guarda che Luna”.
